Sharon Philbin started her career at St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing, and graduated in 1985. Continuing to take courses throughout her career, Sharon received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2008 from University of Massachusetts Dartmouth (Summa Cum Laude), a Master’s of Science Degree in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner from The University of Massachusetts Boston, College of Nursing in 2010, and is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners June, 2010- May, 2025.
Sharon has worked in various settings throughout her career as a nursing professional. Experiences include, general medical surgical in hospital, pediatric burns, oncology, head/spinal cord injury, home care, home infusion, ADHD and community health and teaching. Sharon’s professional and life experiences contribute to her expertise and competence as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
During her time as a nurse, Sharon has had the opportunity to practice in different geographic areas including: Providence, Boston, Long Island, NY, California, Eleuthera, Bahamas, and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

Sharon has over 25 years nursing experience and over 10 years as an Advanced Practice Nurse.
Sharon has specialized in Attention Deficit Disorder, Depression and Anxiety since 2002 in children and adults providing counseling, education and medication management. Sharon began working in this field with Dr. Daniel Marwil, a Neurodevelopmental Pediatrician, and has continued working in this area as a specialty throughout her career.
Sharon has worked as Clinical Instructor at the University of Rhode Island, Frontier Nursing University and Maryville Nursing University for Family Nurse Practitioner Students from 2011-2018.
Sharon has been a Primary Care Provider in a Family Practice in Community Health working with an underserved, culturally diverse population.

Sharon grew up in Rumford, Rhode Island until her early teenage years when her family moved to the White Mountains of NH to open an Inn and Motel. She graduated from White Mountain Regional High School in Whitefield, NH and attended Cheshire Hospital School of Nursing at Keene State College for 2 years prior to completing her first nursing degree at St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing in Rhode Island.
Sharon has traveled most of Europe and much of the United States. She returned to New England in order to raise her three children and live closer to family. Sharon's free time is spent with family and friends. Activities Sharon enjoys include: hiking, swimming, skiing, learning golf, music, concerts and traveling.
